The show is entertaining garbage. I agree with your assessment about the experiments lacking scientific merit, and Max Geiger.
The program as I understand it,uses a series of statistics that the team applies to each "warrior". The program then runs a series of mathematical formulas "pitting one warrior against another". It's really far fetched to think that this program has any real accuracy.
To me the value of the program is learning about the types of weapons; special, ranged, etc. that the warriors used, and how they were used. That's it. I don't even watch the end most of the time, because the results are so arbitrary.
But it is cool to see a Maori warrior's shark tooth club and William Wallace's battle axe hack up a dead pig. So I'll keep tuning in for the first 50 mins, and look at the TV guide channel for the last 10.
dude its the best show ever.....
u suck if u dont like it then go pitch a hissy fit because ur 2 up tight to realise
it is accurate and it might be a little to "below ur standards"
so......noob

Does anyone else think that the Deadliest Warrior is a sham?I completely agree
their experiments are terrible, half the time, the two guys are biased as hell. It's not who is the deadliest warrior, it's who has a bigger gun or along those lines. Usually it's also like whichever warrior comes from a more modern age wins (bronze age vs steel age)
a full armored knight losing to an unarmored pirate simply because a pirate has a one shot gun. They say that if you tilt the gun sideways all the gunpowder flows out and that it's not a reliable weapon and they go on to the simulator that doesn't take any of that into account!!!
they don't take into account for the actual warrior, some of the ones that lost would not have lost in real life. Mafia vs Yakuza, the mafia would just be like uncle mario and cousin fabio with a gun vs trained and skilled martial artists wielding pin point accurate weapons. But since cousin fabio had a bigger gun, that means they win. its wackDoes anyone else think that the Deadliest Warrior is a sham?
Terrible just terrrible. Every time that computer nerd remarks anything about how the fight would go, I want to pull my hair out. It really drives me crazy when they give one particular warrior a bow and arrow and the other nothing. Gladiator vs Indian for example, as if the gladiator had never been exposed to a bow and arrow before. They knew how to shoot them as well as handled being shot at. The show never takes into account strength of the warriors either. Dinosaur fight club was better than this crap
Perhaps one should realize that it is a show for entertainment and is not meant to be historically accurate nor realistic.
It is much akin to thinking that movies such as "Braveheart" or "The Last Samurai" are historically correct.
Only politicians, lawyers and ad agencies stretch the truth more than the entertainment business.
namaste
I certainly do. It's just horrible LOL I watch it like a train wreck- it's so bad I just can't look away. They get EVERYTHING wrong- the science is so dubious, the reconstructions a joke and it's basically a Spike show- lots of guys talking trash and playing with knives. I watch it just to see just how much worse it can get...
I like it.
I think its a good show whether it is completely accurate or not.
I don't agree with the outcome of all of them, but does that mean I'm going to start a smear campaign against it? Of course not, that would be ridiculously immature.
It is cool to see the effectiveness of certain weapons.
If you don't like it, then don't watch it. Its just that simple
Some of it does seem contrived, but how exactly do you know the computer program is an "arbitrary 'simulator' that is actually a video game without any basis in physics or real-world strategy"? Have you looked at the code or specs or what?
As with most things on TV (specially reality shows), it's garbage.
It has good production values but some of the logic used in the match ups don't make sense.
I totally agree with you.
